During ancient civilizations, interior spaces were decorated with bold colours, intricate patterns, and rich materials. Furniture was often minimal but elaborately decorated.
During the 17th and 18th century, interiors were characterized by grandeur, drama, and opulence, with ornate details and motifs. In the 19th century, interiors became more eclectic, with a mix of styles and an emphasis on luxury.
Early 20th Century focused on geometric shapes and organic forms and intricate details inspired by nature. Late 1990s embraced a mix of historical styles and a blend of old and new. 2000s focuses on minimalism, sustainability, and technology.
Clean lines, neutral palettes, and multifunctional spaces are common. Current modern design also emphasizes eco-friendly materials and smart home technology.
